Not a common sighting by us and if you are lucky enough to see it is often surrounded by thick bush. I was very grateful he walked through an open area.

Hi Dumay - Simply a great image. Love the head on walking pose and the low pov. The oxpecker peeking over adds to the image. Nice tones, detail and colors. Congrats on the sighting and the image.

Awesome image Dumay. Love the in-coming/straight on pose. Nicely composed with good colors. Well done.

It can't get more life-like than this, Dumay! Well done! I love the purposeful stride snapped head-on!

During my KNP visit a fortnight ago I stopped counting our white rhino sightings at about 15. I was hoping to see its black cousin as well but it was not to be...

Very imposing view! Well done. Perfect straight on composition. The tip of the horn is exactly centered.

Love the "head on" view and the little oxpecker peeking over the shoulder.
    Perfect comp and IQ.
I would dodge/lighten the dark branch above and left of the hippo. it pulls my eye away a bit from the rhino.

Hi Dumay, very nice pose of this rhino, like the bird and the lifted leg. Is the horn sharp? Can't see if the horn itself is sharp am on an iPad right. But certainly is a very nice image.

    Have a great day
    Ciao Anette

Hi Dumay very fine head on shot of that blackie . With very nice tones and details , as expected from you .
And yes the horn is sharp , Anette , maybe the iPad is not the ideal viewing platform for constructive image critique , LOL.

Dumay if this was mine i would change to things, i would back off on the red/ magenta component. Plus i might give the rhino a bit more push in the 3/4 tones , but not much and without plugging the blacks . But that is just my personal thing.

All around very nice shot . TFS Andreas

Hi Dumay, nice to see something we did miss and never got to see, I think you tucked them away that day, LOL.

Great he came out into the clearing to provide a perfect head on pose, have you thought about a B/W version too?
