Hi Andreas - nice tones, detail and color. Maybe without the lips he's more of Gene Simmons imitator
. The only thing I am not sure about is the comp/crop. I might go to a more traditional vertical portrait cropping some from each side. It seems that the lion is looking sideways so you don't need as much room in front and then maybe from the left to just behind the ear. Just my thoughts on an alternative.

Super shot Andreas. The colors & detail are terrific. Very nicely processed and composed. TFS.

Perfect Kalahari colours. I like the toungue out. I just feel there could be a little more space below for my personal taste.

Thanks all for sharing your thoughts and suggestions , as always much appreciated .
Rachel - well you are right he looks more like Mr Simmons
. But then the tongue should be more sharp at the tip. Regarding crop i am fine with it , tried during post all sorts of crops , but liked this one the most and still do so .Sorry.
Dumay - no space on bottom, as shot there , would also like a bit more
Cheers Andreas

Hi Andreas, I thought the expression was just his though on your choice of socks, LOL.
If you had the time changing the format of the camera would have been good (although you would/may have lost the tongue) as I too feel this framing would have been better as a portrait. Nice detail and PP, just wished the right eye as viewed wasn't closing.

Oh Oh the socks , dear Steve you cannot use my grey socks for everything ,LOL, i.e. great sighting , funny animal behavior etc . And he was too far away to smell them , well i forgot they have a good sense in the nose , maybe you are right
.
There was no time to swop around the camera to vertical , i did not expect that ,just one frame with that tongue position was possible . And on the other hand if i had gone portrait you would have told me ,get rid of the shrub in the FG
. The right eye as viewed open , yes nice to be open , but sadly it was half closed and i will not open it in PS like others did hear in the past after getting the same critique
.
Thanks and cheers Andreas
