    Default Hooded merganser

    taken about a year ago. This bird was underneath a pier and getting some last light
    7d, 500mm, 1/250, f/4, iso 800, hh, almost FF cropped for comp

    I love how the bird pops against the dark BG. Wouldn't mind seeing more reflection if you have it, or burn down the bottom edge subtly.

    Lovely bird covered with water droplets, pin sharp, that dark b/g really makes this for me.

    Enrique:

    The lighting on the bird is excellent, coupled with darker water, really pops. Any flash use?

    I almost think I can see a bit of steam coming out of mouth, faint cloud there. Was it cool?

    Stunning shot, Enrique. She stands out very nicely against the dark BG. Lovely detail and lighting.

    Super sharp, and the dark water really makes the bird pop. I especially like the line of water in front of the bird.
