Life size printing and display

Hi Everyone,

I have an image of a snowy owl in flight that I would like to print in life size (approximately) for home display and that means something like 60X40 inches. I'm looking at 3 options: paper on foam board backing, canvas print gallery wrap, and metal print. The price of the first is the least expensive, canvas is a little more, and metal print is ~ 2X more. Would love to hear advice/comments from those who have printed large images for display including how much sharpening is needed for such large print.

The metal print will not need framing so that will off sets the price. I would contact the lab you plan on having do the printing and use their recommendation for sharpening and up sizing the image. I have had large metal prints done and sharpen them as I would have an inkjet print that turn put very nice
