Default Kestrels Not So Secret Life

Kestrels mating, rather OK even if the light angle isn't optimal. As Artie I normally prefer backlight or frontlight. I think it works. You can't always get everything. I have another series that I may prefer before this one for a book.

As bird males don't have a p. like mammals, it's always a hard thing to make it work. Therefor the kestrels mate five-fiften times a day (or even more) during the right time.

interesting commentary Brutus for a beautiful image.
The back rim lighting is awesome here as is the monochromatic gold/brown bg.
The presentation is right on for my taste....even the right branch is supportive rather than distracting.

take a look with just a bit more off the top....thanks for sharing this

I have lots of rather OK images, Brutus. This is phenomenal. The lighting, colors and action are great. If only she would have looked up for you, as in the other vertical.

Will you be doing English prints of this new book?

This is beautiful and the side lighting here I think works really, really well. Wish for some eye contact but otherwise this one is excellent. Seems like the bg could use some NR. I'd be really happy were this mine. Well done.

Nice NR cleanup Peter...I have to vote for pretty much the original crop.
The lower stem shows more the precarious position they are in.....and more at bottom gives space to look into.....where they're gonna fall :)

Agree with Dave Phillips, the original crop looks better to me too, I LOVE the shot, I specially love those images that tell stories! Congrats!

Great image Brutus. Love the colors the action and the light.

I dont like the square crop at all. The crop makes it look as if the bottom bird is about to slam up against the bottom edge any second. As a rule always allow more space on the bottom for optical balance.

I love the photo just as you cropped it. It has a wonderful tension to it. I agree that a bit of noise reduction in the background would be good.

This is a marvelous photo. Your timing is amazing.

I think your composition is really Brutus, but as already mentionend above, noise could be reduced a little.
