    Default Anhinga... Big Gulp

I went to Circle B Bar Reserve yesterday afternoon. As I was wandering around I caught some motion to my left. Turning I saw this Anhinga rise out of the water with fish in mouth. I got off a couple frames before it swallowed it and went back underwater. The overcast skies helped because the side he was on at that time of day is the dark/shadow side of the trail. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Hi Joseph, it's a scene that doesn't make a "pretty" picture, but certainly one of interest! For those of us fortunate enough to spend time around anhingas, it's my experience that it's a sight often seen, but not often captured, as it happens pretty quickly. You certainly captured the last and critical moment for that fish! Everything looks very sharp. I might try a crop that moves the subject slightly down and left, just to get it out of the center of the frame.

The decisive moment! Excellent image. I think it could also be good with enough off the bottom to get rid of that bit of reflection near the bottom edge. It pulls my eye to the edge.
