Reworked a previous image taken last April in Duba Plains. This is the male lion of a newly formed pride of himself and two lionesses. He is in the prime of his life.

Early morning, but the sun was already strong.

Shot horizontal, cropped for vertical, about 30% of FF

Feeling pretty rusty these days, so decided to posted this one.

    Thank you for your comments.

Nice pose, nice movement, and clean bg. My only comment would be to say that the mane looks a little crunchy (yes I see that it is wet which doesn't help) and that the face and head could do with a little more sharpening.... Just my view.
    Hope to see more.

Hi Loi - Great walking pose and the conversion works. It does look like the light was already a bit harsh and I think you can recover more detail in the highlights on the nose and upper mouth area. I would prefer a little more room below for him to walk into but not a deal breaker.

I think it may be better in colour. It is a little flat in B&W for me. Great pose in what looks like great surroundings.

Thank you everyone for your comment. I noticed the crunchiness too. Will rework in colors over the weekend. Loi

Hi Loi, yes these guys are massive, likewise the females, but awesome subjects to photograph. I agree with both Rachel & Dumay, having more FG would be better and in parts the B/W lacks tonality and therefore it does look a little flat. Positioning the vehicle to track and allow the subject to walk into frame is the best option and a lesser frame rate will offer better 'keepers'.

Thank you everyone for your comments. Here is a color version. I'm struggling with the colors on this one. Either too Yellow or too Green. This version is a bit too Green. Thank you for your comments.
