This drake was photographed at the Barnegat Lighthouse jetty last March. Reports indicate that they are now back for the winter of 14/15. (Not to mention the Purple Sandpipers, Long-tailed Ducks, Dunlin, Eiders and others.) Time for another trip.

Excellent image Bill, the duck is super with the droplets adding more interest ,it's seaweed covered rock perch and the crashing surf take it up another dimension .

I like the water flowing over the rock, pose, sharpness, exposure and composition. Nice image Bill.

He's standing his ground no matter the size of the wave. Very nice capture, Bill with the water curling over the rock. Like the drops of water in the air and on the Drake.

Great shot, Bill! The 'gloomy' BG places it in a class of its own and complements the bird's dark colors very nicely!

A really fine photo Bill--perfect focus, the surf BG, the glistening wet seaweed underfoot, and the water droplets on the bird put the viewer right there at sea's edge--you gotta love photography when it takes you to places and scenes like this.

One of these days I will need to come down there...over here we are all excited over a lone female Harlequin Duck that may or may not be close enough, and you guys have all these beautiful males showing off in great settings. Wonderful image Bill, I love the water running over the feet and legs.

    This is really nice Bill.
Excellent IQ and I like the water running over the feet.
Excellent POV for Barnegat. You must have had somebody holding your legs as you bent over the jetty!!

A bit late but had to stop by and say how nice of a frame this is, and what a beautiful duck. I would love to frame one some day. Everything looks great on this one Bill. Well done
