While photographing the Harlequin Duck recently this young Ring-billed Gull kept me company a few feet away (no doubt being curious about my bag of treats next to me). When it settled down at the edge of the shore on a fresh thin blanket of snow I just could not resist spending a few quality moments trying to get good pictures of it. It is looking quite comfy considering this is its first taste of winter climate! The BG is the Rideau River.
