While photographing the Harlequin Duck recently this young Ring-billed Gull kept me company a few feet away (no doubt being curious about my bag of treats next to me). When it settled down at the edge of the shore on a fresh thin blanket of snow I just could not resist spending a few quality moments trying to get good pictures of it. It is looking quite comfy considering this is its first taste of winter climate! The BG is the Rideau River.

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, 1/500s., f/7.1, ISO 400, natural light, handheld, full-frame, a few uglier stray bits of vegetation removed, warm up the overall WB.

Thatīs why I say it is a good idea to always bring a bag with treats! :)
Very nice bird Daniel, looks so relaxed and love the texture on snow.

I like the pastel BG, sharpness, details, exposure, snow and composition. Excellent image Daniel.
