wonderful image, Jonathan, great background, nice perch and wonderful pose. I think I should have popped round your garden instead of heading around the Wirral with my Dad and his friend as there was very little to be had!

Lol would be typical with my dad but not this time as no real reports in of them yet. We went to west Kirby to check out the Marine Lake but there was a Christmas Fun Run on, and everywhere else was pretty poor. Spotted a Hen Harrier at Parkgate as we stopped there for a look due to reports of a Northern Harrier this morning.

Excellent detail and colour Jonathan, wonder if a tiny bit was taken off the right would take the bird off centre a little bit, which ever way it's a cracking image.

    This is beautiful.
Love the IQ and the colors and the suitably sized perch.

Hi Jon, as per my comment to Keith's image, absolutely cracking BKG, but wonder if having more space below might be better, or going more pano? Nice detail and position, although towards the end of the tail there is quite a bit of noise (some colour noise to)? They really are super subject to shoot, photograph I mean.

Ooh this is beautiful. Very appealing colours. The bird is sharp, perfect pose. Excellent perch. Bummer about the twig/subject merge but the image as a whole is quite strong.

Beautiful sharp image, wonderful colors in the BG and subject. I may only consider moving the bird a bit higher if it was mines. Other than that, a wonderful image!

Beautiful bird and BG Jonathan! I like the sharpness and comp wise I would take some off on our right and a little off the top but it's a beauty as presented.
