Default Coming in for a landing

After getting some very good feedback on a previous post as to what lens I should get, I decided upon the Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VRII...primarily because this give me more flexibility in low light - which is more the norm up here in the Lake District....

I was practicing my BIF on a relatively brighter day and just happened to turn and caught this goose flying in for a landing on Lake Windermere - I caught the whole sequence but like this shot!

    f/5.0
    1/1000 sec
    ISO 250
    Full manual mode
    'Pattern' metering

Slight adjustments in LR for lights and darks
Any comments / suggestions most welcome!

    Charleen:

Nice down the barrel landing pose, with excellent wing spread, wake.

I think the slight wave action works well with the horizontal of the wings.

I could see a version with a small crop off the bottom.

I might try to subtly lighten the the left side of the birds face.

    What body are you using?

    Cheers
