What's not to love about this picture? The alert pose, the nice light, Details, BG and perch are all fantastic! Are these flowers native to this area, or is it a garden picture?

Thanks. No this isn't the garden picture, the plant is native along the Adriatic coast and mountains in the neighborhood. The plant belongs to family Eryngium. Depending of subspecies and the age of the flower the color is more or less blue.

This Mantis is posing nicely for you. Lovely light and details. I like how the Mantis fills the frame. Nice clean background sets the Mantis off nicely. Beautiful golden glow.

This is an exceptionally good shot, the pose and the composition along wit the light and muted background make for a winner - well done.

Wonderful sharpness and colors -- the mantis looks like a piece of gold jewelry posed for an advertisement in a very high-end magazine.

Hi Miroslav. I would agree with all the positive comments above - this is an outstanding shot! Given that the mantis is looking out of the frame to the right, you might consider cropping a little from the left and adding a little canvas on the right - just a thought.
