    Hi Everyone,
Here is another diving image of the rough-legged hawk taken just a couple of seconds after he left his hunting perch to pounce on a vole. Nanaimo River Estuary here on Vancouver Island.

    Stats: Canon EOS-1D Mark 4, 600mm IS2, 1/2000sec, F/6.3, ISO800

    Thanks for looking,

    Steve

A tack sharp image of an incoming bird. Sweet!
My only wish is that the BG colors were not so sharply layered. I know there is nothing you can do about that but I can wish!
Did you lighten the birds left eye? It looks good but if you did not lighten it then I would do that.
    Well done,

Lovely pose and the bird appears to be in a spotlight ;)

Nice and sharp and agree on lightening the eye if possible

    Steve:

Dynamic pose, love the display of aerodynamics as the tail is turned in the bank.

The opposing diagonals gives it a strong sense of action for me.

I might try a version with it framed just a bit looser, esp. if displaying it as a larger image/print.

    Cheers

Nice and sharp, agree the background is a bit distracting, but not a big deal. Would have loved to see both eyes.

    All the best, Dvir

excellent dynamic pose. sharp with great details, as Randy mentioned opposing diagonals make this image more strong. I would consider leaving more room around the bird and also toning down the highlights a tad
