    Default Sunrise Ross's Goose

There's a small window of time at the Bosque when the morning color hits the mountains behind the birds. A Ross's Goose descended at just the right time for me to capture this image. Looking forward to my Bosque workshop with Greg Basco and Keith Bauer next week! Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Very nice Doug. It's amazing how pristine white the birds are down there compared to our west coast flock, with their orange tinged heads and a slightly yellowish cast to the adul t whites. I know the head colour is from the iron in the mud where they feed on Wrangell but not sure of the origins of the yellow shades.

Beautiful light and excellent IQ. BG as wonderful.
    Exposure is spot on.
I could see a version with a bit more on the RHS.
I am hoping you have the next or previous frame which shows my favorite "wing forward" position!

Thanks Gail. Unfortunately the bird had descended below the color when I got a decent wings-forward frame.

    Doug:

Well captured. The whites are really nice, almost glowing, with nice play against the soft bg color.
I agree with Gail, perhaps a sliver more on the right, so he is landing right down the diagonal of the frame from upper left to lower right. Might not 'read' better, but could be a subtle improvement.

    Cheers

Nice one Doug! I like the great Bosque colors and the fully extended pose. Nice to see you again!
