    Famale Kestrel and Young
    Its amazing how quickly the young grow. Quite a handful to keep fed. The male didn't show when the young got to this stage but would call the hen off..

    I am amazed by the incredible measures you took to get this shot. You were light years ahead of this pack!
    Did the locals think you were nuts?
    Considering the technology of the time, this image is terrific.
    Tells a great story and is wonderful natural history.
    Is that the head of a dead bird on the right hand side lower corner?

    Great pictures John and a great story with the one yesterday. Its good to see older pictures of birds at the nest as not many people get this opportunity now.

    This is an amazing look at the intimate stages of a kestrel family. I agree with Gail's comments 100%. Thank you for sharing these John
