    Default Ferruginous II

Here is another flight shot that I got on another day of this feather perfect juvenile Ferruginous Hawk. It was overcast this morning and I had to boost the ISO. Another photographer abused the opportunity that Dave Salem and I were having with this cooperative bird by taking numerous flash shots with a better beamer. The bird soon became annoyed and became very reluctant to our approach.

Check out that look of determination and concentration!! I normally prefer the wings higher or lower, but I gotta say that the pano-ish crop you chose goes very well with this pose and the layered BG. You could try a version with a slightly warmer WB just for kicks. Really nice overall.

Thanks Daniel, here is a warmer version

The slight increase in contrast gave a good punch to the colors -- beautiful catch!

Terrific flight shot, Glenn. Wing position works fine for me, and I like the RP. My initial reaction was that it might be improved with several points of black added to the neutrals, but after seeing the repost I'm not sure it's needed. Fine capture.

Great Image Glen and the repost makes it even better. I think you have captured the bird at the perfect angle.
