A lioness in the prime of her life stalks a herd of wildebeest in the Mara Triangle, Kenya, during the recent photographic safari that I hosted. Moments later, she took down a youngster not far from our position.

Very nice pose and conversion here Morkel, personally would like the lioness a tad darker for extra contrast.

Wow this is awesome Morkel. I like the stealth pose, the grassy terrain and that intense stare. Great conversion too. TFS.

Pretty cool image and I like the conversion but feel the lioness could go a little bit darker.
I really like the way the grasses are bending forward giving a real sense of movement in the same direction as the lioness.
The flies are so " real" and I am glad you kept them.
If this was mine I would clone out the stray grass crossing her face but if you are not a cloner I understand your ethic.
    I really like this,

I love the sharpness around the focussed stare against the softness of the surrounding grasses Morkel! Nice shot, well done!

Hi Morkel - I like this a lot. Great placement in frame. Conversion works well but it would be interesting to see a version with the lioness darker as suggested for comparison.

    Rachel

Hi Morkel, like the stalking pose, slight curve and raised paw. It could be thought that having so little tone within the overall image that it was to emphasis how well the subject blends into it's environment, however we can all read different thing into an image, just depends on what/how you wish to portray the image.

Hi Morkel very cool stalking pose you captured with great low POV. Nice comp and conversion . I am fine with the lioness being hidden in all those light tones .
For me lioness does look a tad crunchy , sorry Morkel just for me .It is the white " halos " at the edges that are poking me slightly in the eye. I would just slightly soften those HL halos , without loosing the general sharpness .

Very well done and good idea in doing it the way you did.

    TFS Andreas

    Morkel ,like this a lot..

Absence of colour, just as the prey would view it, predator hidden in the grass, freezing any movement that would give her away-you froze that moment..

She blends in so well, do not make her darker or lighter, she is...

    Love the comp.
    Regards

    Andre.

I am very late to this one Morkel, so sorry-

I was busy viewing this image while at work the other day and thought you deliberately allowed the lioness to blend with her surroundings.

This would make a lovely print, Morkel. Love the intensity on the subject's face, thoughtful processing, love your thinking here-congratulations!

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
