Default Northern Shoveler at the Bosque

While much of the attention goes to the Sandhill Cranes and Snow Geese (deservedly so, since they are there in the thousands!), there are other species out there that are well worth photographing. Here is a Northern Shoveler drake.

Excellent flight pose, and I love seeing the blue scapular on the wing! The beautiful brown/red bkgd color looks very Bosque-ish.

    Miguel:

An excellent capture of a very handsome drake. I didn't know they migrated that way, so thanks for the image and info.

    Lovely light, exposure, sharpness.

    Cheers
