    Avian Goldcrest with 7DII

Could be Europe's smallest bird. Bad light and I didn't take flash . Fast bird, moving from dark to highlight in a fraction of second, so for this shot I didn't have time to set EV compensation. However, my first experience with 7DII. I was very lucky with 1/320 but BG is very busy .

    7DII, 600 IS L II, monopod, natural light, f/5.6, 1/320, ISO800.
    Photo size: 2576 x 1803 pixels.
PP: selective NR & brightness/contrast & vibrance, removed few spots in BG.
Location: The Island of Brac, November, 2014.

Wow great image, the blacks look just the slightest bit gray to me.

I love the bird and the IQ. And I'm with John on the BG -- wish the white OOF areas weren't there but probably wasn't under your control.

The bird might stand a touch more contrast or maybe just brightness.

That is a sweet sharp image of this little guy. I would go a stop brighter and a bit warmer. Hope you don't mind the repost.

I like the sharpness, details, perch and composition. A real tough bird to get. I would be happy to get an image like this. Well done Miro.

Alan thanks a lot, well done final touch. Your version is better and I appreciate your repost and you comment. It's just what I like to get so it's easy to see what can be improved. The original raw version was pretty underexposed so I lost my sense for the final PP.

    Cheers,
    Miro

Excellent repost by Alan addressed the major problem: too dark! Surely a close cousin of our Godlen-crowned Kinglet.
