Fighting Female Pintails

I'm Not sure if it is the normal behavior for these birds but the females of this species always seem to be fighting rather than the males.

Nikon D7000, 300mm AF + 1.4x TC. 1/800 sec f/8 ISO400.

Good action captured here with both heads with an eye visible. Also like the bubbles and spraying water. Maybe another round of sharpening in the heads and eyes.

An excellent action shot Iain--was it part of a burst or just really good timing? Pintails are lovely little ducks and to catch such activity, with the water swirls and head postures, is magical.

Yes nice action, I would suggest a little eye doctoring to see if you can bring a just little colour there.
