Hi folks one of magical times of the day in the KTP .The sun is just about to disappear behind the dunes .
Not always good subjects in range of the viewer , this time i got lucky to have Gemsbok gathering around Sitsas WH.
I was hoping for a fight between them , but they did not want to do so even if there have been quite a lot.
They started somehow but never got together , meaning in the open , they were fighting in a chaos of that group , nice to watch but not worth a picture .
So i opted for this single Gemsbok from a image design POV to include the landscape , hence the cam settings for action shot .

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous thread
Lovely light and subject here, Andreas. I just love KTP. Last time I was there was 2012 - time to get back there. As usual, very well processed. It does seem as though it is leaning a tad to the right - maybe a slight CCW shift, unless I am seeing an optical illusion (very possible )?
Hi Andreas - Beautiful tones and nice image design, particularly that the horns end in the open sand before the brush begins. If it were mine I would crop slightly from the top to get rid of the one brighter spot along the top edge. I think Mark is right about the very slight ccw rotation.
Just makes me miss the place, Andreas! Lovely light and framing, good call on the empty space behind given the pose of the Gemsbok.
I disagree with the rotation as I know this waterhole well, and that dune and "horizon" are really sloping. Given the perpendicular orientation of the subject you did well to level according to the line below its feet I would say.
Really nice light, the detail is great. I like the horns as it is composed but for some reason the head angle to the body is kind of throwing me, not sure why, but not enough, not to like it!
I love seeing/looking at things I know I will never get a chance too, thanks for sharing!
Halli Hallo folks a very big thank you for your kind comments ,as always much appreciated .
Rachel i was actually thinking during the processing i have to rotate the image , thinking as you did, but then i forgot about it because it is just ever so slightly , but you are right .
Agree on the slight rotation required, love the lighting and placement here Andreas, the sky looks a little too processed for mine and an easy fix of course and I'm seeing a small amount of blue in the shadows, but this is true to life and quite normal for mine.
Thanks Marc , i actually tried during this trip , believe it or not, to keep an eye during shooting on tone and color . I found after your various comment and re comments with me , you are actually on a good path with your blue in shadows. So i thought i keep an eye on that and i will less reduce or suggest about reducing the blues in the shadowa. I actually found it varies from one area to the other .The same with the tones , even in strong light conditions i was surprised what my view through viewfinder was giving me on shadow detail . So i try to get this now into my images , i say try . Will not work all the time i think.
No extra processing on the sky , i darkened the sky in combo with the other tones in the same range .
