For a change, I thought I'd post a hippo image. This one was at Timbavati.

Hi Sanjeev -- Nice reflection here, good eye contact, and nice light exposing the eye. I would suggest a luminosity mask on the brightest lights to tone down the highlights on the face. I also detect a purple / magenta cast in the skin.

Hi Sanjeev - Nice low pov and the pano comp works. I really like the open eye and the sideways glance. Good suggestions by Mark. Also watch the halo along the back.

Hi Sanjeev, good call on changing species.

I think you handle the light quite well in what appears to be quite a harsh environment. I'm OK on the colours, but I do think the 7D hasn't quite capture the detail & clarity that we have seen from you with the 5D. I personally feel these shots can be quite challenging, as we want to get really, really low with something like this. Perhaps next time and if you are feeling brave and it is OK to do so, just lean over a bit more with your supporting lens hand kissing the water. Yes you do have to be extremely careful, but it does occasionally prove to be a good call.

PS I think the 7D lens a clean, but then Santa may have the 7DMKII.

Hi Sanjeev works for me as presented .
POV is quite low , but could be lower as per Steve .Agree that you handled the light very well with just enough detail on the shadow side , think the Hyena should looked this way .
Comp does look good , too.Nice eye !
If this was mine i would give the reflection some more punch , is looking a bit washed out compared to the subject .

    TFS Andreas
