    Default Purple Finch - Female

Just a quick "Thank You" to Christopher Miller for the information on how to post.

I wanted to post something a little different for my first BPN post...I know it i snot your normal perch, but I like to mix things up a little bit just for fun, I hope you like it.

Males seems to get all the color in the bird world but every now and then you can find a colorful female...like this one.

Nicely captured Mike. About the composition here - I may have given more space to the left and less perch? Of course, comp is a personal opinion isn't it?

Hi Mike, Thank you...I really appreciate the C+C!!

I tried composing it a few different ways but it just did not look right to me and this one is the one I liked best...as you said...it is all personal choice and vision...if we all did things the same way...it would be quite boring!

Pretty girl! Always love the "messy bill" stuff they have going on. Perch seems a little overwhelming, so a bit less space on the right... a bit more on the left would be my preference... but, still, JIMHO! There are always options! (and, perhaps.... bird looks a bit oversharpened, but your DOF looks good! and with more yellow on the crown, wings and base of tail than I've seen... but could just be me... again!)

    Hi Mike,

Glad to see you posting. Nice catch here -- a very nice bird and pose. My choice would be for less perch, though.

But the processing could use another look. The bird seems to have a lot of noise reduction, especially on the head -- it almost looks pasted on the BG. Did you do a selection to reduce noise on the bird? Maybe it's a combination of NR and sharpening -- they both have major limitations and fight one another.

A little more information about your processing would help with critique.

Thank you Sandy and Diane for the C+C, I appreciate you taking the time to have a look and post your P+Cs or POV (Pros + Cons or Point of View)! This is why I joined, it is kind of disheartening to see so many views...so little interaction. Thanks again!

Hi Mike, thanks! I, too, would really like to see more interaction on this forum. Yep... I also check the number of views.... would be great if a few more folks took just a minute to submit a comment. Of course, that goes two ways also..... I've seen posts here where the OP doesn't acknowledge the C/C.... so thank you for doing so! Will look forward to more images from you!
