One of those Greenie juvies at Green Cay about a month back. This beauty was perched amongst a lot of BG clutter, so I went in close. Created late morning with less than optimum light.

Getting in close is a perfect way to omit clutter, so way to go! I only wish it wasn't so close...maybe more room to see the neck at left. The bill just seems so close to the edge, and the "virtual" bill tip sticks out of the frame. Still an intriguing image :-)

Sharp, and a good job with the fairly harsh light. And yes, a bit tight. Best for images of preening birds is to have the bird's head and bill perfectly parallel to the imaging sensor...

So sharp and so much detail! Wish you could have just stepped 2 steps to the right to get parallel.

    Artie and Robert,
I could have and should have(stepped to the right). I'm always OK with closeups as long as the eye is in focus; but getting that beak in the same plane would have been better!!! As always, thanks for the advice!!!!
