Room window job again.(See house reflection if you blow the eye up) Beech hedge in the back - and yes it was that colour with the light coming directly at the camera. House wall acts as a reflector.

Gorgeous capture John. Just a little noise in the background otherwise superb on all counts. Well done. Regards, Ian.

Nice, John. I loved my Sigma 100-300/4 and only sold it to buy my Canon 70-200/2.8 II (and I miss the longer reach on the high end). Handsome bird, sharp, and I like the composition. I would have been tempted to shoot this more wide open to give as much BG blur as possible as the leaf pattern is a bit distracting.

    Thanks both.
Yes I could do more noise reduction and background blur etc but I usually end up making a pills of it !! Might try later. Thanks guys.

I like the pose, sharp. The BG blur looks a bit unnatural and synthetic to my eye and also a bit on the red cast.

    Thanks
Aresh- no blur added. -Just usual neat image globally. As I say that was he colour as it came out with the strong back light. I agree it does look strange.

Great feather details on your bird and a cute pose. Lucky you to have a window set up...you don't even have to leave your home. It's fun to see the bird in Fall leaves, but I think the image would have been more powerful without so many competing colors.

Hi John, you have brought out the finer plumage detail very well, and I like the angled pose. I do like the colourful BG, but you could try a version by desaturating the leaves a little - it could bring out the bird a little more.

I think you apply too much neat image. reducing the red/yeallo sat. on the BG or adding blue/cooling filter to it will help

I actually like the background leaves as is. Perhaps a few small brighter spots could be toned down but I am digging the autumn scene. Yes to more noise reduction to the BG and I'm wondering if the image could use a bit deeper blacks. Good pose by the subject, and great colours overall.

Thanks all. heres one with the background less "colourful" I didn't want to take too much off as that was what I liked about the shot !
