Default Male Peregrine low light flight

Got this frame in SoCal earlier this year. The male was only flying early in the morning, we had overcast skies that provided uniform but dim light. BG is the ocean. hope you like this frame

Wow! Fantastic frame Arash. That male is such a good looking specimen and you caught him in a great looking pose. The sky and the details look great and the even diffused light covers the falcon well.
That was a fun few days of shooting this peregrine eyrie. See ya soon

Hi I have looked at this image a few times it's a nice image, but I find the background to bright and the image has to much NR going on, the bird dose look ok but I see a sharpening halo around some parts of the bird and seines of over sharpening on other parts.

Thanks Phil, but the BG is not too bright (check your monitor I think it's not calibrated properly) and the bird has not had any NR, I don't apply NR to the bird. It doesn't show a halo or over-sharpening either. that's how a peregrine plumage looks like.

I am not sure, I saw one of the images that you had posted and it looked quite dark. If you are interested in learning about calibrating your monitor and color correction please see this article on my blog

if you have proper hardware calibration the brightness should look just fine.

I don't think I was confused, you said the BG was too bright while it's obliviously not (check histogram), so I think your monitor brightness is set too high but that's up to you whether you want to adjust it or not.

The best way to tell exposure/brightness is by checking histogram BTW. We try to discuss these issues in the critique forum since it is beneficial to our readers.

    good luck to you.

My monitor is just fine thanks, but if all you want is a comment of it's a good image or not good , then why do you leave comments/critique on other posts in this forum pointing out problems with there images ? after all it's still only my personal opinion that I find the back ground to bright on the image, but as you find that hard to cope with I will not leave any more comments on your posts.

    Many thanks.

    Phillip.

    Phillip,
We encourage and welcome critique, however critique that is objective and has some reasoning behind it, for e.g. checking brightness/exposure with histogram as I mentioned. I personally don't have a problem with any critique on my images pointing out issues/flaws, that's why I post here, so do other members.

I could have just ignored your comments, but I decided to spend some time in good faith trying to help you figure out potential issue with your screen, after all you are the only one who thinks this image is bright and the other image you posted was too dark as well but it seems you don't want to accept it so I'll just leave it here

    Thanks,

Arash, This is a stunner. As expected. I love the wing position, the feet, and the sharpness.

Hi Arash. Great BIF shot and pose. I like the position of the wings and light & BG are so well balanced with details of the bird. If mine I would try to edit/clone the small detail at the left side of the beak/head. TFS.

    Cheers,
    Miro
