    It might be common for some of you but it is very rare around here.
    It nests high up North and winters along the Atlantic Coast and Ireland.
    (the pale-bellied version that I posted)
    Some would come inland but never more than 1-3 individuals.
    I was lucky that it came out of the water and did a short stroll.

    Karl this is nice, water droplets on the bird and that kaleidoscope(hope spell checker is right)of a Bg is great, great colourful image.

    Excellent image, Karl with beautiful worm colors in the frame. Great profile pose of this rarity.Nice HA, beautiful details on bird and love the tiny waterdroplets on the belly.

    Captured nicely, with good detail and fall colors. I might be tempted to try reducing the brightness of the foreground just a tad.

    Nice autumn feel here Karl. I like the low angle, background, wide stance pose. Some of the leaves could be toned down, but overall a fine image of the uncommon for our parts bird. Glad you got to see and photograph one too.
