There's something about seeing animals in the forests of Mana Pools...these Zebras were quite photogenic. You don't always need to reach for a shorter lens to capture an animal in its environment! This photo was imaged with a 500mm prime telephoto lens.

Beautiful scene Morkel, the B&W works so well here. I like the tones, the depth & sharpness in the image. TFS.

Hi Morkel - this works really well. I think it would also work nicely as more of a pano with some cropped off the top, maybe to just below the bits of sky coming through on the right.

Lovely scene captured here that gives a great sense of the animals in their environment. As usual from you bud, excellent conversion and treatment of light and shadows. I am curious as to the lack of detail in some of the trees and leaves - it looks like you added some texture?? Or is that a result of 5.6 and not stopping down to capture more DOF, or simple compression issue from downsizing?

Hi Morkel , looks magical that place .
Well processed with lots of things to look at , nice tonal depth with all kind of variations of tones , the subjects still do not look lost in all those details . A very nice depth in the image coming from the various tones .
    Good job all around .

    Hello Morkel,

Sorry to come in so late, as I am looking at this image I have many regrets for not being able to book the Mana trip...beautiful scene with majestic trees and I love the conversion, well processed and presented and the zebra really stand out - great work Morkel, congratulations!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
