These are such awesome creatures. The use of the fisheye gives this a nice 3-D effect separating the subject from the background nicely. I do detect a magenta color cast, especially in the blues of the sky.

Thanks, Mark. Hmmmm ... the magenta is some artifact of my uploading process, I believe, as the image color on the original here looks great. I do see the cast here on my monitor at work on the BPN version but not on my original version. Will look into this when I get home and see if I can upload the better image.

Awesome image Ian, love the use of the fish eye to give us a great view of the subject in the environment. Terrific POV. TFS.

    Nice perspective, Ian.
I agree on the magenta, and I wish you'd captured one a few moments later so the tree doesn't seem to be growing out of the tortoise's back...
It also looks like the image is lacking midtone and shadow depth and has been lightened too much?

Thanks, Morkel. At the rate these things move, waiting a few minutes would have made no difference in tree position .

I'm going to need to go back and play with PP a bit. Will repost when I get the chance.

Hi Ian - nice use of the fisheye. I agree with the comments and suggestions above. I would also back off on the sharpening of everything except the tortoise.

    Hello Ian,

Whew I am very late on this one, so sorry...After reading all the comments and your replies I was somehow hoping to find an RP This only needs a few tweakies...

Lovely capture and I like the use of fisheye, would love to play with one of those lenses too! There must be some more in that folder where this came from, what else have you captured with this lens?

    Keep posting Ian

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
