    Taken today, it was getting dark but I took it all the way.

    1/500, iso1000, f5.6, 600mm (300 w/2x) D800, HH
    PP in ACR, PS6, NX2.

    Sometimes its nice to see shots in different light, and this to me is a prime example of getting great detail outside the golden hours type of light. Love the low POV and the angle of the Grebe. Maybe I'd be tempted to very slightly lift the exposure on the area just above the eye as it doesn't draw you on the way some of the other brighter areas do, but it'd only be a subtle tweak

    This is a wonderful capture, with very unique lighting. Looks like a well done studio shot. It is subtle, and moody, all good for me.

    I appreciate Mike's point. It reads very nicely as is on my monitor, but people have different tastes.

    Great job hand holding this rig under these lighting conditions. Not a tolerant camera for any operator motion.

    I am finding image very pleasing! Love all the details and how well this bird stands out against the dark BG. The hint of green works well and you had a terrific low angle.

    nice capture,love the light,some nice detail,love the dark gren water,can see a lot of polarization in the BG,on my screen.
