If one were to be one individual of a flock of American Tree Sparrows foraging and feeding in the grass this is what the view would be like. The dry plant in front of the subject is the donor of the seed in the bill.
Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/320s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, cropped for comp right and below (alternatively this image may lens itself well to a pano crop).
Very nice worm's eye view. Beak with food is a plus, but I especially like the colors in the grass and the BG. Some of that would be lost in a pano. I've heard reports that a few of these guys are passing through our area, but I've yet to see one this fall.
I like this very much. The subtle background hues are lovely and the delicate sprinkling of colour in the grasses broadens the image out very nicely (not forgetting the bird which is posing nicely and showing good detail).
Great POV and subject isolation. Although I am a fan of pano crops for many of my waterfowl shots, I think that your current crop works very well. OK, maybe 5% off the top, but nice as is.
Nice perspective on this little fellow. The grass looks great and adds to the unique look. Good techs as usual and the detail with the seed is perfect. Well done
