I enquired with the snowy plover biologist at the SFBBO, and they told me that this individual was fledged at the Salinas National Wildlife Refuge. After hatching snowy plovers are reared by their fathers until flight capable. This one made the short hop up to the SF Bay area, and will probably winter here.
Well done on the subject pose and the light, and it's fun to see the bracelets for a change. Loving the blue BG but feeling the foreground is a bit too powerful. I would crop about 1/2 from the bottom and then from the left to compensate.
I see you borrowed my beloved shovel to get eh ultra low angle. I do agree with Marina however about the FG and crop suggestion. I like the mound of sand, and the blue in the BG. Cute pose by the plover. The bracelets look like 80's fashion sports wristbands...
