    It's too bad the pelican is such a common bird in parts of our country. If it were less common, we'd all be anxious to photograph it. But, I still find the pelican an interesting subject. This image is from Estero Lagoon. Slightly cropped, with minor processing. I did flip it horizontally. Any C & C welcome.

    good landing pose with sharp details and good exp. , perch isn't the best looking though

    Hi Mike - This is a great capture of the pelican alighting - lots of impact and very nice composition!

    Landing pose is pretty perfect if you ask me. Posts is where pelicans land here in Florida. Your comp works very well. Glad you had this opp.

    When I visit Florida I enjoy photographing them as they are non-existent up here! Them being so common is also a testament of the success in getting them back from the brink. A pretty much perfect landing pose, and I associate the post as something off a pier that is very apt for this species.
