Some of you might be aware that myself, Andre and Andreas went together to the Kalahari last month. It was a great trip and we had lots of fun moments, this is just one of them...
Andreas was driving ahead of us and we had comms via two-way radios, at some point I spotted Rosetta the leopard and her cub in the river bed and we immediately called Andreas. He quickly turned around and arrived just in time to see her and the little one cross the road.
Andreas provided us with the most unique BG ! At least we still got some shots, our dear friend was just too close (LOL), also, the vehicle side mirror got in the way
Andreas - it has been such a joy having you around! We laughed so much, shared so much, and even developed our own vocabulary:) We miss you, and talk about you ever so often! This is for you, there's more in those folders where this came from, lots of love and big hugs from us both, have a great week-end!
Hi Gabriela - Sure sounds like the 3 of you had fun, even if Andreas did get in the way of your images of Rosetta and her cub . Since I know this wasn't the only time you saw them, I'm sure you've forgiven Andreas by now.
Thanks Gabriela for reminding me of one of my numerous photographic disasters i experienced during our really gorgeous time in KTP , was a pleasure to travel with you guys . No complications at ALL !!!!!!! at least for me.
In this case i came late , because i was driving ahead of you guys and had no such good spotter like YOU in my car .When i got there i was busy getting things sorted , but then my side mirror was in the way .......... D.A.M.N i missed everything from photographic POV , but still have this in my memory .
A very big thank you for posting this .....
Is the white balance demo on the way ? i hope so ......
I shall refresh your memory with lots of images in the weeks to come! I have plenty, sometimes you were too absorbed taking pictures of wildlife when I took a snapshot of you - still finding my way with the white balance, looks like a rainy week-end coming up and that'll be the day:)
Thank you Daniel, so kind of you to view and comment Indeed we had some fun and awesome sightings, even though at times the lighting conditions were not great and heat haze made it difficult at times to get sharp images. But such is the Kalahari, I just love the place and the challenges it brings. Glad Andreas enjoyed it too:)
I don't comment on photos that people I know got in the Kalahari of leopards
Isn't "Rosetta" now officially known as "Safran" in the KTP Leopard ID guide/project? I looked and waited hours for them around Lijersdraai when we stayed at Grootkolk recently, but no luck.
I did break my leopard duck as we saw one drinking at night at Urikaruus, but no pics yet for me, Gabriela... :(
