This jay is one testing little devil! He sneeks down when I have my back turned and flies away very quickly. When I am ready and waiting he chooses a time when the sun is just a little too far round the corner. Well at least he is coming regularly now so hopefully I will get the ideal shot where he tosses that acorn up in the sky and he is just that little bit better oriented toward the camera.

Like the 'Autumnal' BKG Jonathan, subtle and sets the subject off nicely IMHO. Like the head action, just needs that head a bit more to camera (side on) rather than looking away. Would like the 'perch' to be a bit more 'weathered with a tad more character' it's a little too clean I feel.

    Hey Jonathan,

While the head angle isn't ideal, the moment captured is optimal! Not sure you could have timed it any better.

I see a couple of dust spots above and to the right of the head, just an FYI.

Love the setting and subject. Agree for trying to get him doing this towards the camera more.

Excellent moment capture with the nut half way down, Jon. You might try to open up the dark areas just a little more.

Cool looking pose with the seed suspended perfectly in between the beak. The techs look good and there are lots of details in this neat frame. Agree that a bit better HA would be great. Keep shooting!

Hi Jon, very well timed here, and you have brought out the detail on the Jay nicely. Im fine with the perch, and thats a killer BG. Well captured.
