Watching these young baboons chasing and rolling around together was great fun! Sometimes the play got rough and a serious bite of the tail cools off the game! Although I wonder if the one baboon knows just whose tail is between his teeth!! Photographed from the photo boat on the Chobe River in Botswana in mostly shade, but with streaks of late afternoon light through the trees.

Ha ha Nancy, this is a fun image indeed. I like the exposure, the interaction with tail in their mouth and the incline on which they are on, makes me feel they may have rolled off after that!
Lovely interaction captured here, Nancy. These little guys are always a blast to photograph. Nice detail and sharpness. The image, however, lacks a bit of the "pop" factor for me - perhaps lifted the shadows a tad too much? I also detect a magenta / purple color cast in the blacks (especially on the face) - a common issue with our Canon cameras. The image feels as though it is "leaning" a bit far to the left, so I would suggest experimenting with a slight CW rotation.
I am smiling as I write, you made my Friday evening and I thank you for this post:) You do have this gift of capturing special moments and I am enjoying your images tremendously!
This is a very unique moment you have captured, perhaps if you have the time you could look into those issues mentioned by Mark above, I too see the colour casts creeping in on the faces of the two naughty characters. Regarding rotation - I am not so sure, I kind of like it the way it is because I get this feel that the two are "tumbling backwards" and I really like this effect...
Well done, looking forward to more from your travels,
Hi Nancy - You certainly captured great interaction and a fun moment. I agree with Mark's suggestions but think you'll have problems with rotation because the resulting crop will make the image too tight or possibly cut off the tail at the bottom, unless this is already a crop and you could go back to a larger image to make the rotation. The magenta in the black doesn't bother me as much as the cyan cast to the hair.
I must be blind to color casts! I can only see them when someone actually points them out. I'll rework the image. Thanks all for your discerning eyes and helpful comments.
Hi Nancy very cool image with a well chased title .
Great interaction shot , with great details and sharpness . The image is missing some mid tones and shadows , looks like you lightened the frame ?
Color issues are already covered by Mark .
