    Default Baby Elephant

A very young baby elephant suckling its trunk in golden light at Timbavati. I liked the way it looks as if its smiling and the texture shows so well as its about 20-30% crop of full frame. Cropped it square to eliminate distracting elements. Hope you like it.

Sweet! Lovely light and I like that you kept Mom in the frame.

Hi Sanjeev - definite cuteness factor here and the textures and hairs show up well. I think it's a little bright and would drop the exposure by about 1/3. The angle is a little steep but not much you could do about from a safari vehicle except perhaps move further away. I would prefer to include a little more of mom if you have it along the top. Keep them coming.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Hi Sanjeev , very cute !!!
With the small one suckling on his own trunk , well seen. I also like the inclusion of mum , and a free with Rachel about exp and more mum would not hurt .
Like soft color and tones , well handled lightning .Gives a nice imagination of shelter for the youngster .

Very cute indeed. I would have liked the image if you could have had a lower angle on the animal. Still a warm and enjoyable image.

Hi Sanjeev, I quite like the framing, albeit dictated by distracting elements. The angle isn't that steep compared to some wider shots posted here and obviously the constraints/closeness of the subject precludes a lower angle. A bit more of Mum may help, but again, dictated by other elements, I like the idea Andreas sowed, 'shelter'. Nice detail & light.

Super cute, in great light, and a good choice of framing if the alternative is a bunch of distractions.
It's always a treat to see them this young - it does look like it's smiling!

    Hello Sanjeev,

This ellie went straight to my heart, sweet moment captured and I too like the idea of "shelter" Andreas came up with - would make a great title for your image.

Lovely colours and detail (especially those little hairs on the ellis's head, too cute!). I like the inclusion of Mom, reassures the viewer that the subject is safe and well protected despite his vulnerable looks. Techs already dealt with above, I can hardly think about techs when I am so taken with the scene itself...perhaps drop exposure a tad, like Rachel suggested?

    More ellies please!!!
