    Default Young Flapper

    Attached Images Attached Images

Caught this young White-fronted Goose having a good flap after his bath - head angle came right just on the last couple of strokes. i like the action and the variation in the tones of the feathers.

EOS 1DX with EF 200-400 with 2.0 TC at 657mm
    1/1250 sec @ f/8.0 ISO 1000

Converted in DPP4; normal workflow in PS5 setting black and adjusting tones in Curves. Light Dfine on background and Sharpen on bird.

    Comments and feedback most appreciated.

    Thanks for looking!

    Gerald

Good one, Gerald. It was nice of him to turn his head at the last minute. And yes, I too like the range of tones in the wings.

Are you ever lucky it gave you that head angle...way cool! Too bad the near wing was not stretched out higher, but man that far wing looks amazing. Great job overall.

I like the look back pose, soft light and nice details. sharp. I agree it would be more dramatic had the near wing been stretched more but overall I like the pose and this frame!
