    Default Whitetail on the prowl...

7D MarkII L70-200 2.8 IS shot @ ISO1600, 90mm F3.5 @1/25 sec silent shutter. Really not use to the editing with Canon DDP but gave it a shot.

    Hi Joe,

The beautiful fall colors add interest to the image. I'm guessing that you were above the deer and somehow that angle feels a bit awkward to me, do you have more images from the day? Wishing you the best with your new 7D MKII and initiating processing with DPP; I have no experience with either one but there are lots of good reports for both. Thanks for sharing.

    Best,
    Katie

Well I guess this marks the first 7Dmk2 photo posted in the wildlife section of BPN
Were you in a blind/hide in a tree, Joe?
I quite like the angle as it's something different - I've found that either going very low or much higher than we're usually able to produce interesting results to our eyes that are so used to the "from-the-car" angle with wildlife. I do think there's some magenta coming through overall that could use a tweaking (removing), and I'd add some more contrast by burning the shadows on the leaves around the buck. Might also do well with a slight reduction in brightest tones?

Thanks guys. Yes it's from a tree hide about 15 foot up. Totally agree about the magenta looking at it now.
