    How can you not love a happy-go-lucky little goose like this! Just look at that smiling face . The Brant is a small goose that passes through locally at this time of year during migration. It's body is about the size of a Mallard's with the neck being a bit longer.

    Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/200s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, original vertical cropped for comp.

    Daniel:

    Its the pose that makes it for me, with the head tilted one way and the body the other, plus the open bill of course. Seems to be enjoying his snack.

    I might try a version with a bit off the top.

    Daniel, you always manage to find some green to incorporate into your photos - a nice touch! If you have more room on the bottom, I'd crop from the top and include on the bottom (I think the room may be more useful there, but that's just a thought).

    As Randy mentioned, the head tilt is a bonus!
