    Default Morph or Hybrid Mallard?

    I've seen the big "dark" mallards before, but what's the scoop on this guy? Inverse coloring?

    Looks like a Mallard that hybridized with a domestic duck (ducks that are in turn descended from the mallard!)

    Daniel is 100% right. You will find these hybrids mostly in park locations. Very rarely will you see a duck like this in a wilderness area with wild mallards. Have fun.
