    taken on Bowland moor the other day,it was a beautiful day,my favorite game bird.cannon 500mm IS L F4,7D MK1,hand held,ISO200,F7.1,1/800S,crop,levels,sharpened,removed piece of grass over tip of tail.

    Hi Chris, nice to see them standing out and showing off those white booties. I quite like the POV through the 'V' of the tuffs, but think you could lose perhaps 50% of it around half an inch so your eye is more channeled to the subject, but the amount is purely personal. Will have a trundle up on my patch next week after the shooters have been over the weekend, hope there are a few left, certainly busy beating for Pheasant yesterday.

    Chris:

    The natural framing here is great, as Steve mentioned. I agree, a bit off the bottom, to just above your sig would work well, although I do like the proportions of the frame as is. An option would be to lower the luminosity of the lowest foreground a bit so it would visually recede. The birds pose, alert air,all good.

    I am really enjoying the leading lines here, and what an amazing subject our eyes fall on. Cool pose. Lovely light. I tried various crops. The OP crop is strong as is one with some off of the left and bottom.
