The Whistling Kite is predominately a scavenger and carrion eater but also hunts live prey including rabbits, rats, lizards and occasionally birds and fish.
As mentioned in my previous post I attarcted this bird using a chicken carcass. It seems to be a competent buthcher and appears here to be seeking a mate to pull the wish-bone

Great look at this cool raptor John. Nice looking feather details and a nice smooth BG. The pose with good eye contact and the wishbone hanging there is cool. Not sure if I love the chicken carcass sprawled out over the perch though.
The brightness looks better than the last one. Nice work getting close to this raptor.

Nice sharpness & focus on the eye! I love the details of the meal - an excellent example of a raptor enjoying its meal. A little bit of noise on the BG but not too distracting. Well done John!

Hi John, well timed to show the Kite showing off the wish bone, and I like the light cast on the eye. Im fine with his food all over the perch. If you have more space, I would add a bit more to the right, and take a bit off the left. I would run some NR on the BG.

Nice shot John. Awesome detail of this raptor and lovely BG. The wishbone is awesome but IMO it would be better if there was not so much carcass on the perch. TFS

Would have worked better had you have used a more natural bait, like a piece of dead fish. The chicken kind of spoils it for me. I am not sure even harsh midday sun would look this bright...
