    Default Common Kingfisher.

Spent a day down the river recently trying for ospreys and had much better luck with the kingfishers! This is a young bird that was practicing his hovering skills which I managed to grab a shot or three of.

    Camera & settings: 1DX, 500 F4 II, tripod, F6.3, ISO 640, SS 3200.

    Thanks for looking.

Excellent IF shot of this beautiful KF! It's tough to track them. Well done.

I agree, nice job getting this quick flyer in the frame. I know it's not easy, and allot to ask, but a lower perspective would be awesome with this species. Good luck and Well done

Hi Dave, well done on getting this speedster in the frame. Not easy to capture these little guys in flight. Certainly a juvie and the colours are spot on.

Great job on capturing a KF in flight. Not an easy task. I just wish for a lower perspective here but I would still be happy if it were mine.
