    Default Northern Shoveler Pair

Only occasionally am I lucky enough to get the drake and hen in the same frame, and the same focal plane. It makes for a nice comparison, even though the drake here is far from full breeding plumage. Taken last week at Cape May. This is almost FF, after a bit of rotation.

A very pleasent image Bill - great detail in both subjects, and the complimentry warm tones in the BG really enhances the composition. Well seen!

Perfect shot for IDing this species in this plumage. Nice light and details too. Might consider taking some more off the top and create more of a pano. Well done Bill

Good light on this pair Bill and nice you caught them both in the plane of focus. If you have the canvas, I personally would add a little to the bottom and crop the same amount from the top to put them closer to the center. Still a nice image as is though. TFS.

Beautiful light on this very attractive pair. Like the mix of warm tones and reflected blue sky. Would like to see a bit more room on the RS. Well done.

Hi Bill, I like the light in this, and good DOF, as both are in perfect focus. The blues and browns of the water compliment the Shoveler's nicely.
