Taken from garden hide, camera mounted on tripod head bolted to a shelf, Canon 1DX, Canon 500mm f4, Auto ISO 2000, 1/2000th sec, f8, manual focus, remote release.
I am not sure if this bird is showing signs of avian pox. Any way I liked the feet showing through the wing feathers! The background is a distant weeping willow tree.
    All C&C welcome.

You caught the action nicely here Jonathan. Difficult with these small birds to get the wing position just right, but as you say its interesting to see the feet through the downward wing. Lovely smooth BG considering an ISO 2000. Well done!

What a unique frame with the feet showing thru the wings. The head and the tail look nice and sharp. The wing blur is a bit heavy IMO but I think you may not see the feet if the SS were faster so it might be a trade off. Looking at your exposure settings, and I can see that you don't have allot of light to play with, I might trade a few f stops of aperture for some more SS for these flight shots.
Nice clean BG for ISO 2000 also. Well done.

Hi Jon, I like the upward flying angle, and well exposed on the blacks. Good wing position, and thats a killer BG you have there.
