This heron, photographed at Lake Morton, Lakeland, Florida, seems to be a resident of that lake. I see it whenever I go to that lake. It has become quite tame with all the activity around the lake, walkers, joggers, bicycles and photographers. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Joseph Florida is certainly the place for Herons and that 80 -400 lens of yours worked very well on this image, lovely detail and colour, maybe a tad more at the top but that is being picky.

Excellent detail, but I agree with suggestion to add a bit of canvas up top. I would have preferred a light angle that didn't create a shadow on the iris.

You have a lot of feather details here, and I particular like the flowing feathers around the bird's chest area. The composition isn't quite working for me. I agree with more room on top, and I'd take some off of the left.

Thanks everyone for taking time to view, comment and suggest improvements. Here is a revision. I fixed the shadow on the eye, I moved the bird more to the left and added to the top.
