    Default Palm Warbler

I'm happy to see some of our migrants returning. This is from my backyard feeding area.

    Hi Hunter,

That's a very nice pose to capture in your feeding area.

If you can get them there consistently, I'd consider a smaller perch. I think your choice of aperture is spot on, but I might go for a bit more shutter speed (at the expense of ISO) to really freeze that bobbing tail.

I've always found that perches that are normally too thick really do work great when they are fully anchored along the bottom of the frame with no space below...if you "browser crop" to just above your signature you will perhaps see what I mean. The birds pose and the background look good.

Thanks Miguel. I will probably work on my feeding station pretty soon so I will look to introduce some smaller perches.

Thanks Daniel. I see what you mean but if I were to crop it to the base of the perch or half way up I would either end up cropping too tight on the entire bird or having much more space above the bird than below. Typically I try to keep fairly even space above & below in a shot like this. I'll play with it some and see how it looks.

Very nice BG and pose from the warbler.
    Agree about the perch.
I feel that you could sharpen the head a bit more.
