    Geoffrey:

The impressive size difference, the uplifted gaze of chick, well exposed, works for me.

I could see a version cropped as a vertical, to really play up the height difference, esp. since the adult is already cropped, and the negative space to the left doesn't add a lot.

    Fun. Made me smile.

I like the interaction, sharpness and exposure. When I saw the thumbnail I was thinking this would make an excellent vertical. Very well done Geoffrey.

Same thing I was thinking before reading the comments above. A vertical crop may help even better with the composition.

Nicely captured Geoffrey - the rapport between this young cygnet and parent just works beautifully.

Agree with the suggestion of vertical format which would make an even stronger statement.

I think you should post a repost as a vertical. I think that would be really nice!

You nailed the "cute and cuddly" on this one. I played around with a sqare crop on this one and really dug it...there's is waaay more to appreciate vs discount going on here sir.

I'm going to agree with the comments above, a vertical crop would make this image that much better. The interaction caught here is great.

Geoffrey, I liked this the first time I saw it, and still do. Although the negative space on the left helps emphasize the smallness of the cygnet, the idea of a vertical crop has a lot of merit. Can't wait to see it.

Thanks Everyone for your compliments, and though I like the original crop, because of popular requests here is a vertical crop. Maybe as suggested by Shawn a square crop would also work.

I like it either way; two for the price of one.

Ooh that vertical crop works well! I think a square with keeping all of the adult from the OP would be swell too. Love the parent-chick interaction.

The vertical works for me!! Such a cute moment caught!

I wonder how it would look with more detail brought into the light body -- it pulls my eye over to the edge.

My first thoughts were so cute but needs to be a vertical, and boy what a difference it makes. The interaction and intimacy were lost in the horizontal version.
