This little lady was the most cooperative hummingbird I have ever encountered. She allowed me to approach to my MFD with the 600.
She stretched and preened for several minutes.

Lucky you to have a HB so close, Gail. Love all the details you've acquired, the fanned tail and the amazing BG that works so well with your subject. Your perch is just the right size for this bird, I only wish it didn't crawl up to the bird's neck. Regardless, it's a very pleasing image.

Lovely image Gail, thank you for sharing. It is a treasure when a bird is so trusting as to allow one to approach closely. The images from those encounters are outstanding.

    Gail:

Hummers can be great fun to work. This one is sharp, well exposed, with pleasant bg. Nice comp for this pose.

    Cheers

Beautiful image, Gail. I'll say you had cooperation from her. Love the fanned tail, head profile, great detail (can see the reflected clouds in her eye). Well done.

Awesome opportunity and you made the most of it. Techs look perfect, and the processing is tastefully done.

Beautiful image Gail of this cooperative hummer! The fanned tail gives added impact here and the bird beautifully portrayed against the soft BG.

Awesome processing regarding noise/pixelation in the bg...smooth, like butter. Really like the details and soft light quality, but the pose is really killer.
